Multi-Head Systems
Multi-Head Systems
Simultaneous Stamping for High-Efficiency Production
Hastings Manufacturing designs and builds multi-head hot stamping and heat transfer systems for applications requiring decoration in multiple locations on a single part.
These systems utilize multiple independently controlled stamping heads to perform simultaneous operations, improving production efficiency, reducing cycle time, and ensuring consistent results across all imprint locations.
Built for Complex Applications
Multi-head systems are ideal for parts that require:
- Multiple graphics or markings on a single component
- Decoration on multiple sides or surfaces
- High production throughput
- Consistent alignment across multiple stamp locations
By performing multiple operations in a single cycle, these systems eliminate the need for secondary handling or multiple machines.
Common Configurations
Configurable System Designs
Hastings designs multi-head systems based on application requirements. Common configurations include:
- 2 through 8 head systems
Each head can be independently controlled, allowing for precise adjustment of:
- Pressure
- Temperature
- Position
- Timing
This ensures consistent results even when part geometry or material conditions vary.
Available in Heat Transfer and Hot Stamping
Multi-head systems are available in both:
- Hot Stamping (RL) – Foil-based marking for durable finishes
- Heat Transfer (HT) – Multicolor image transfer with precise registration
Important:
Heat transfer systems can also perform hot stamping.
Hot stamping-only systems cannot perform heat transfer.
Designed for Automation Integration
Multi-head systems are ideal for parts that require:
- Multiple graphics or markings on a single component
- Decoration on multiple sides or surfaces
- High production throughput
- Consistent alignment across multiple stamp locations
By performing multiple operations in a single cycle, these systems eliminate the need for secondary handling or multiple machines.
Tooling and System Integration
Hastings provides complete system solutions, including:
- Custom tooling and dies
- Nesting fixtures and alignment systems
- Automation and material handling
- System testing and validation
All components are designed and integrated to ensure proper alignment, timing, and repeatability.
Engineered for Flexibility
Each multi-head system is designed specifically for the application. Hastings can customize:
- Number of stamping heads
- Press tonnage and configuration
- Tooling and fixturing
- Automation level and integration
- Safety systems and guarding
This ensures the system meets both production and operational requirements.
Example Applications
Multi-Side Decoration
Parts requiring stamping on multiple sides can be processed in a single cycle using multiple heads, improving alignment and reducing handling.
Large-Format Components
High-tonnage multi-head systems can be used to decorate large products such as containers or industrial components with consistent pressure across each imprint location.
High-Volume Production
Multi-head systems reduce cycle time by performing multiple operations simultaneously, increasing throughput without increasing labor.
Engineered for Flexibility
Each multi-head system is designed specifically for the application. Hastings can customize:
- Number of stamping heads
- Press tonnage and configuration
- Tooling and fixturing
- Automation level and integration
- Safety systems and guarding
This ensures the system meets both production and operational requirements.
