HP Series (Hydra-Pneumatic)

HP Series

Hydra-Pneumatic Hot Stamping & Heat Transfer Presses

The Hastings HP Series consists of hydra-pneumatic presses designed for hot stamping and heat transfer applications requiring increased force with controlled pressure delivery. These systems combine pneumatic operation with hydraulic force amplification to deliver higher tonnage while maintaining efficient cycle performance.

The HP Series is ideal for applications where pneumatic systems are not sufficient, but full hydraulic systems are not required.

Available in Hot Stamping and Heat Transfer Configurations

All HP Series presses are available in both:

  • Hot Stamping (RL) – Foil-based marking for durable, single-color or metallic finishes
  • Heat Transfer (HT) – Multicolor image transfer using precision indexing and registration

Important:
Heat transfer machines can also perform hot stamping.
Hot stamping-only machines cannot be used for heat transfer.

This allows each HP Series platform to be configured based on application requirements without changing the core machine.

Tooling and Automation Integration

Hastings designs and manufactures complete tooling systems and can integrate HP Series presses into automated production environments.

Available integration options include:

  • Custom tooling and dies
  • Nesting fixtures and alignment systems
  • Rotary index tables
  • Slide tables
  • Pick-and-place systems
  • Vision inspection systems
  • Auto-eject mechanisms

Designed for Production Flexibility

HP Series presses are suitable for a wide range of production environments:

  • Standalone workstations
  • Multi-station production setups
  • Automated cells with robotic loading and unloading
  • Conveyor-based manufacturing lines

These systems can be configured with tooling, fixturing, and automation options to match specific application requirements.

Bridging Pneumatic and Hydraulic Performance

The HP Series is designed to fill the gap between pneumatic and full hydraulic systems.

Compared to pneumatic presses:

  • Increased stamping force
  • Better performance on larger imprint areas
  • Improved consistency in pressure delivery

Compared to hydraulic presses:

  • Faster cycle times
  • Simpler system design
  • Lower operational complexity

This makes the HP Series a practical solution for many medium-to-high force applications.
